Gibson Arnold & Associates is seeking an attorney with 6+ years of experience to join a company in Houston, TX as a Commercial Senior Counsel. The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for:
- Acting as primary counsel to multiple commodity trading desks;
- Drafting and advising on a wide range of trading, storage, and transportation agreements;
- Providing counsel on the structuring and negotiation of long-term origination deals;
- Providing authoritative legal advice on complex or ambiguous matters, interpreting and applying company policies, procedures, and regulations;
- Drafting, reviewing, and editing a wide range of legal documents, tailored to diverse audiences;
- Managing relationships with internal clients, acting as a strategic business partner and deploying resources to support business objectives;
- Instructing and managing outside counsel and specialists;
- Recommending and implementing changes to policies, processes, and standards to improve operational support and ensure compliance;
- Monitoring, interpreting, and applying laws, regulations, and industry best practices, maintaining up-to-date expertise through continuous professional development;
- Leading or contributing to major and unique legal assignments of significant importance;
- Developing and delivering clear, compelling communications and presentations to various stakeholders;
- Building and sustaining high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust across the organization.
